TAMWORTH TIPS

BEST BET
Race 6 No. 6 SLOW DOWN POINT
Winning on debut; no luck in the next two either side of the spell.

NEXT BEST
Race 5 No. 15 INTERVENTIONIST
Dundeel’s gray son who comes second, Tick.

VALUE
Race 1 No. 12 OFF THE SCALE
The first starter from a bright stable who did not appear at the trials.

THURSDAY
Race 4: 1,2,4
Race 5: 6.15
Race 6: 6
Race 7: 1,2,5

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW
With any luck, Luke Rolls could take on the TAB Jockeys Challenge.

TAMWORTH INSIDE THE POST OFFICE

RACE 4: BENCHMARK 82 (1200 m)
RHYTHM IS A DANCER (2) won 5 of 18 and placed 4 times. Furthermore, in his four visits to Tamworth he won twice at Tamworth, and perhaps the greatest indication of his talent is that he won the Scone Country Cup and was fourth in the Championship Heat competition here at Tamworth in March, beating RUSSLEY CROWN (1) (who , as it happens, also runs here on Monday). JACENZA (4) is undefeated in two series at Tamworth, but is the most numerous here.
BET: Rhythm is the dancer to win

RACE 5: BENCHMARK 66 (1600 m)
INTERVENTIONIST (15) was a 2020 $150,000 yearling who was purchased online in August 2023 for $11,000. Out of eight races for the new owners, the horse won 3 times. He first made it home in the 1200m and now he’s reaching the mile. LEICA MODEL (6) scored a hat-trick ahead of her rather moderate performance in Grafton. Maybe now he wants 1600 m? SYRIAN STAR (3) handles really well on highways.
BET: Interventionist every way, box trifecta 3,6,10,15, Daily Double 1st match (15), 2nd match (2)

RACE 6: CLASS 1 HCP (1400 m)
RELEASE POINT (6) was an impressive victory at Narromine on debut on April 28. It’s fair to say that the horse didn’t have much luck in his next two runs, especially the first at Scone on August 30. BLAZED PRINCE (5 ) was always going to win the race and will win more now that he has learned how to get the job done. A draw makes the task more difficult this time. The candidates for the title are the harmonious duo POWER BEAU (4) and FULL COMMITMENT (11).
BET: Release point to win (best bet)

RACE 7: CLASS 3 HCP (1000 m)
JET EMPRESS (2) returned to the winner’s roost and achieved her best result when she claimed her third victory in seven 1000m starts on September 16 in Benchmark 58, giving her a one-to-one track record for the trip. There is no reason why she couldn’t repeat the dose. Interestingly, the third horse behind ‘Jet’ was NOT WRITTEN OFF (5), who arrived at Narromine last Monday. WHO GOES THERE (1) ran 56.59 s in his only track and distance appearance.
BET: Jet Empress will win, box trifecta 1,2,5,6

WAGGA TIPS

BEST BET
Race 2 No. 5 CANDI LASS
Keith Dryden trained mare who is now perfectly tuned/suitable for the 1400m.

NEXT BEST
Race 3 #2 MAKE A RAP
Impressive considering she has two wins from just three starts.

VALUE
Race 6 No. 17 MY BLUE JEANS
Start 122 on Monday for the 10-time winner. Sting suits.

WAGGA INSIDE THE MAIL

RACE 4: GIRLS’ PLATE (1200 m)
URAFIKI (11) made her first five starts for Joe Pride, and while she didn’t place in all of them, maybe two of them could be considered “nice.” However, without too much criticism of this very well bred mare, she is probably not the city standard, which is why she moved to Danielle Seib in Goulburn. The former (briefly) Maher/Eustace guested on HOT TODDY (2) and was numbered ‘683’ for Wagga coach Darrell Burnet and all were ‘good’ or ‘very good’ in their own right. Can be started with a delay.
BET: Urafika both ways, box trifecta 2,3,11,15.

RACE 5: CLASS 1 HCP (1400 m)
KERMANDIE RIVER (4) (in Gerry Harvey silks) won his second start at Wagga on September 21 over four and a length, leading from barrier 1. He now moves up to Grade 1 over 1400m, a very appropriate progression for horse, BUT he drew 14. I’m still sticking with him. The Hayes galloper HENRY’S BLADE (2) received Tatura on Tuesday, but if he is present here, he poses a threat. FUTURE FUND (5) (well drawn) and SUSPECT (1) (in form) are the players.
BET: Kermandie River to win, Daily Double 1st match (4), 2nd match (9).

RACE 6: BENCHMARK 58 (1800 m)
The MY BLUE JEANS (17) squad will start on Monday for the 122nd time. The goal will be its 11th victory and/or 24th place in second or third place. The $10,000 yearling Adelaide races much better than it looks, good fours have been an issue. Pay attention to the “has” because it will definitely get the right surface this time. NATS ENOUGH (2) is a reliable horse. In total he won 6 races, 4 of which took place in Wagga. He loves slop whenever he can get it. SORRY SUNSHINE (10), LIQUOR TALK (12) have open race claims.
BET: My Blue Jeans in each box, First 4 Nos box. 2,3,10,12,17.

RACE 7: CLASS 3 HCP (1200 m)
LETME ENTERTAINYOU (9) shares the same third dam (Steam Heat) as Yes Yes Yes and In Her Time. This is one of the deadliest “fastest” families in the Stud Book. Anyway, as for Letme Entertainyou, he won 3 out of 10 and was runner-up twice. Resumes play at home after an amazing process, wins first place and Nick Heywood. ACHESON (3) is himself a lightly racing and elegant looking sprinter. He’s also well-drawn and has an advantage in racing prowess. YOUR NOT THE BOSS (11) performed well among Mitchell Beer fans.
BET: Let me entertain you to win, exactly 9 to beat 3.
